I like Greg Couch' response to Serena Williams lie about her weight. He advises Serene to "Say that her weight is the weight carried by the current Wimbledon champ ...."

While I believe that if Serene Williams were unconditionally comfortable with her body image, she wouldn't lie about her weight, I understand why she would assert that she weighs a number that would be socially acceptable. She, like most women are socialized to place a lot of their value on what they weigh.

Let's face it, she is in a highly competitive profession, where numbers tell a great deal.

Could it be that saying her real weight, and being in the public on the level that she is, could mean that sponsors and coaches will treat her as less than who she is?
